Everyone loves a good Chardonnay, but can you really find one for under $15? Well we bought a bunch of Chards, tasted them blind… and guess what? We found 2 really good ones for way UNDER $15! Of course Amy and Eduardo were shocked when the labels were revealed but on DrinkThisTV.com, it’s all about what’s in the glass, not what’s on the label. Cheers!
SPIT OR SWALLOW? Chardonnay under $15
April 22nd, 2009SPIT OR SWALLOW? Merlot under $15
April 22nd, 2009Poor Merlot. Ever since the movie SIDEWAYS, the grape that’s worshipped in France became the devil in America. Well, that’s the story we’ve all heard. But Merlot is making a comeback and so we tasted a few inexpensive bottles. When you sample this juice blind, you never know what’s going to jump out of the glass. And in this case, Amy and Eduardo were pleasantly surprised by the least expensive bottle they opened!
SPIT OR SWALLOW? Malbecs under $20
April 22nd, 2009The wine world has truly gone global and we love to discover up and coming varietals. Malbec is not that esoteric but we figured we try a few blind and see what we liked and what we didn’t. This tasting sparked one of the sharpest debates between Amy and Eduardo. The bottom line: there are some really good Malbecs out there if you know what to buy. Cheers!
SPIT OR SWALLOW? Cotes du Rhone under $20
May 5th, 2009Bordeaux is great and Burgundy is spectacular but don’t forget about Southern France! Cotes du Rhone wines are easy drinking and Amy says they are the best value out there if you want to buy something French. We tasted a bunch and as usual, the least expensive wine won the blind tasting. Buy a bottle and let us know what you think. Cheers!
